After being in the long Covid Melbourne lockdown, we packed our life up, and begun traveling around Australia. First time caravanners, we have taken to this lifestyle like a duck to water.
August 2022, we found ourselves at a lovely caravan park near Nambucca Heads. It rained for days, and our caravan site had a concrete slab that sloped towards our caravan. Seeing the wasted water and the mess the rain created in our outdoor living area, we searched for products available to help in this situation.
We love our caravan gadgets and were sure we would find a suitable product.
For our requirements and expectations, we could not find anything.
RainAway Awning Gutter was born!
Concept
We knew we wanted our design to be compact, easy to install, stress free and waterproof. We explored various materials during initial prototypes to ensure we could manufacture the best possible product.
The gutter is made from waterproof marine grade upholstery. The ribbing is 25mm nylon, double sewn for strength durability. A plastic garden tap fitting fitted with plastic flanges proves durable and easy to connect to any garden hose. Storage is completed when rolled up and slipped into the small drawstring bag.
Far greater than our expectations, we are proud to present, in our opinion, the easiest and best water catchment product on the market. The gutter attaching to your awning poles does not put wear and tear on your valance and works with your awning in a level position, with or without privacy shades or annex erected.
